@detertiarisation est un néologisme né de la contraction entre la déstalinisation et le tertiarisation de l'économie.

"La déstalinisation en Union soviétique commence aussitôt après la mort de Joseph Staline en mars 1953 [...] elle consiste à abandonner le culte de la personnalité et à dénoncer les « excès » de la période du stalinisme."

Initialement, l'idée derrière ce compte était simplement de produire des images avec les outils mis à disposition par les système d'exploitation lui même (Mac OS X en l’occurrence) plutôt qu'avec des outils de création graphiques conventionnels (Suite Adobe, The GIMP, Inkscape, etc... ).
